It's was a pleasant morning. The weather was mild but there I was sweating. I was holding my phone refreshing my Email for the 100th time. I might be exaggerating (lol). I have been waiting for this mail. It seems to be taking forever. I had thoughts like "If they are not reaching out to me, they probably have moved on with someone else" and you know, at that moment you will start reminiscing about how you answered the questions during the final interview.
I was there with all my thoughts and my heart racing without stopping. And then I got an email, it's from them. I was scared to open it because I don't know what I might find but then the notification on my phone says "Hello Bami, Congratulations..." oh, I didn't read the rest of the email at that moment. "I finally got a Yes!" That was what was echoing in my head as my mind scream it out and my month pour it out for people to hear. I was jumping, screaming "it's a Yes!", "The mail said Yes", "I got the job", "Oh my God", these phrases lasted on my lips as I continued jumping, screaming, and dancing. I was ecstatic, oh I finally got a Yes!
Hello Readers, you're probably wondering what's going on or might have picked a hint. Well, I came to share the goodness with y'all.
Last year December I wrote about how I suffered from Burnout for 8 months and what I did to get myself out of it. The article can be found Here. If you read the article, you will understand why this means a lot to me.
I went from a junior developer to a community manager which I also shared Here. Where I wrote about "How I Transitioned from a Contributor to a Community Manager" From the point transitioned till this moment, I have been applying for jobs, hoping to get a yes. I sometimes get halfway and I will receive 'Breakfast' lol. I can laugh now. I literally cried when I get these breakfasts.
A friend called me after I shared the goodness with her and said "This Hustle paying" she is not wrong. This is my hard work for the past 5 months, my intentionality and consistent showing up even when I don't want. I received help because I showed up every single time after my burnout experience. I just want to tell you, you can do it too. Take a break but don't give up. Your break shouldn't be as long as mine thoughπ
I'm rooting for you tooππ
I'm pumped to tell y'all that I'm joining Tunga as the Community Manager. I'm looking forward to working and learning from the team. I can't wait to meet them all. I'm excited and grateful to a lot of people. Thank you all. I start work today! I finally got a Yes!πππππππ€ΈββοΈπ€ΈββοΈ
